December Content Update

With this month’s installment of The Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea comes the last part of The Welles Report. In this section, the Countess delivers her conclusions, ones which those who have played Guns of Infinity may find somewhat familiar.

Next month will bring with it a new article on a new topic, thought up and voted on by those who’ve donated to my Patreon. If you’d like to have a say in determining what article goes up next month, there’s still time to pledge your support before voting on January’s article ends on the 19th.

October Content Update

Another month means a new chapter of The Welles Report in A Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea. This section covers the end of the Battle of Blogia and its immediate aftermath. I can assure you that those of you who’ve played Sabres of Infinity will have a lot to like in this bit.

If you want to see more writing like this. Please do not hesitate to donate to my Patreon. We’re just a touch short of $150 a month now, which means we are on the cusp of seeing every new article accompanied by some artwork by yours truly. I’m sure some of you are looking forward to that!

September Content Update

September’s Patreon Content update is a bit late, sorry about that. Work has been a bit hectic lately, and I’ve been trying to keep a whole lot of plates in the air at the same time.

Nonetheless, the latest installment of The Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea is up for public viewing now. This part of the Welles Report focuses on the climactic hours of the Battle of Blogia. With Prince Khorobirit’s battle plan proceeding far too well and the King’s Army on the ropes, Countess Welles describes the crucial actions which allowed the Duke of Wulfram’s army to preserve itself against all odds.

Only two more parts of The Welles Report remain to be uploaded. After that, I’ll be presenting a selection of potential topics every month to patrons, so that they can vote for the subject of the next article.

If you want to get in on that voting process, feel free to donate to my Patreon. Those who donate $1.00 a month will be able to get access to these updates a week in advance. The $2.00 tier comes with the ability to vote on the next topic to be covered. At $10.00 a month, you’ll even be able to suggest future topics yourselves.

August Content Update and Other News

I’ve been keeping quite busy over the last month. There’s a lot of new work I’ve been throwing myself into, including The Cryptkeepers of Hallowford, the sequel to The Hero of Kendrickstone (expect a page for that to pop up sometime in the next few months). There’s also another new project which I am very excited about, but I’m not supposed to give away anything about that one quite yet.

Rest assured though, this month’s update for A Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea hasn’t been delayed. This latest installment of Countess Welles’ report focuses on the first few hours of the Battle of Blogia itself, from the initial artillery barrage to the infantry engagement, all the way up to just moments before the fateful point when Mikhail of Khorobirit commits his Church Hussars.

As always, if you’re interested in seeing more world building and setting articles, feel free to donate to my Patreon. Not only would you be supporting further installments, but you’ll also get access to updates a week early!

July Patreon Content Up

July’s installment of A Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea is now up and available for viewing. This section covers the preparations made by the Duke of Wulfram’s army prior to the fateful battle at Blogia, as well as the events leading up to the first shots being fired. There’s lots of details about Wulfram’s battle plan, as well as a surprise appearance by a certain junior officer of the Royal Dragoons.

Next month’s article will finally get into the first few hours of the battle itself.

As always, if you’re interested in seeing more of this stuff, feel free to donate to my Patreon. Not only would you be supporting further content like this, but you’ll also get access to updates a week early!

June Patreon Content Update

It’s the second week of the month, and that means another Patron-funded installment of A Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea is now available for general viewing.

This section of the Welles Report deals with the Antari army which faced the Duke of Wulfram at Blogia. Like the previous entry, it goes into detail about the organisation, leadership and weaponry of Antari army. It also digresses into a summary of the family history of its commander, Prince Khorobirit.

Next month’s installment will begin describing the events which led to the battle proper, the preparations Wulfram made, and his reasons for choosing to stand and fight where he did.

As usual, if you’d like to get access to these updates a week early, or if you’d like to simply support my worldbuilding articles, please feel free to donate to my Patreon. We’re nearing the $150/month mark right now. If we go over it, that means next month’s update may also include some maps, or other images.

Even we don’t, I can assure you it’ll have plenty of content to look forward to.

New Patreon Content Up

This month’s entry for A Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea is now up. This portion of the Countess of Welles’ report focuses primarily on the organisation of the Tierran Army, as well as its institutional flaws and strengths. In addition, it covers the leadership, equipment, and the experiences of the Tierran expeditionary force in the first half of the war. It’s considerably longer than the first part (which was merely an introduction), so it does get to go into a great deal of detail as well: a product of the months of worldbuilding which went into making sure that the portrayals of the King’s Army in Sabres of Infinity and Guns of Infinity were not only faithful to the limitations of pre-industrial early modern warfare, but to the society and politics of the Unified Kingdom of Tierra, and the setting as a whole.

If you want to support more of this sort of intensive worldbuilding in my future works, please feel free to donate to my Patreon. Not only do patrons get access to these articles a week in advance, they’ll also be able to input their own suggestions for future articles once my page gets off the ground.

The Brave, The Proud, The Rocket Corps

simplerocketcorps

As Mecha Ace rushes courageously towards its release on the 13th, I’d like to take a second to update you on one of my other projects.

Rocket Corps (formerly Rocket Age, but unfortunately, we found out that name was taken) is a character-centered board game with card-based gameplay in a setting best described as 50s space opera, altered for modern sensibilities. Working together as the crew of one of Earth’s first starships, two to four players must face unexplored sectors and mysterious alien threats as members of the eponymous Rocket Corps.

I’ve been part of the development team as lead writer for nearly a year now, and we all feel that the project is starting to come together into something worth showing to the world.

For more info, take a look at Turtle Ship Games’ latest post, complete with some art of one of Rocket Corps’ characters, Captain Jadwiga Zielinska, by one of our artists, the ridiculously talented Eva Toker.

Welcome to the New Site!

Hello everyone!

So, this is my new website, something a bit better organizedl than my “old site” at spacecatstudios.com. It’ll be my personal blog for news on all of my projects, including Sabres of Infinity and any sequels as well as my continuing work on Master of Fortresses 2. From now on, I’ll be posting news and updates regarding the aforementioned projects here, though not based on any fixed schedule.

That being said, expect some exciting stuff coming in the next week or so.
