It’s the second week of the month, which means it’s time for me to upload another installment of The Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea!
This month’s article is an overview of the Knightly Orders, the organisations which serve as the most visible sign of religious faith in the Northern Kingdoms. Wealthy, prestigious, and influential each in their own ways, the Orders-Militant, Orders-Succorant, and Orders-Aspirant all serve not only as expressions of faith in the Sainted Martyrs, but also as forces to be reckoned with in the political sphere of the Northern Kingdoms. Those who have played Guns of Infinity have already had a glimpse of what being a member of a Knightly Order entails, but you should all expect a lot more Order politics in the upcoming Lords of Infinity.
As usual, this installment was made possible by my supporters on Patreon. If you’d like to see more of this kind of content, feel free to become a patron. Donors at the $1-a-month tier get access to new articles a week in advance, while those who commit $2 a month get the ability to vote on next month’s article, as suggested by the $10-a-month backers.

It’s the second week of the month, which means it’s time for another installment of The Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea.
This month’s article is the long-awaited history of the Royal Dragoons, showing how the regimented developed from an improvised stopgap coastal defence force established in the first days of King Alaric’s War to a hardened veteran unit by the end of the Dozen Years’ War, nearly half a century later.
The subject for this month’s article was chosen by my $2-a-month tier backers on Patreon, who are currently voting for the topic of next month’s article. If you want to support my efforts in presenting more of the Infinite Sea’s worldbuilding, or want your own say in what I should be working on next month, feel free to make a pledge and vote before the deadline on the 19th.

The newest installment of The Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea is now up!
This time, we cover the Tierran home front during the Dozen Years’ War. How did the war affect those who stayed behind, and those who were faced with the economic fallout of an overseas conflict which they never chose to take part in? Find out in this latest article, which comes in a new format to better integrate images and text.
As always, if you’d like to support more content like this, feel free to pledge to my Patreon. Those who back $1 a month get early access to new installments. $2 backers get to vote on next month’s article, and $10 backers get to suggest future topics!

With this month’s installment of The Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea comes the last part of The Welles Report. In this section, the Countess delivers her conclusions, ones which those who have played Guns of Infinity may find somewhat familiar.
Next month will bring with it a new article on a new topic, thought up and voted on by those who’ve donated to my Patreon. If you’d like to have a say in determining what article goes up next month, there’s still time to pledge your support before voting on January’s article ends on the 19th.

It’s that time of month again: time for a new installment of The Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea.
We’re making a slight digression in this part of The Welles Report with a series of maps showing the progress of the Battle of Blogia. Now you can see where every battalion of infantry, every squadron of cavalry, and every battery of artillery was at the crucial points of the battle.
This is the first time I’ve added genuine real-live pictures to any of my patron-backed content. This was made possible thanks to the 48 generous patrons who’ve helped me meet my first-stage goal of $150 a month. The next goal, at $300 a month, will bring with it a second monthly column, this time devoted to the politics and society of The Fledgling Realms, the setting of The Hero of Kendrickstone and its upcoming sequel, The Cryptkeepers of Hallowford.
If any of this interests you, feel free to pledge your support through my Patreon page. A $1 US a month gets you access to new content a week in advance.

Another month means a new chapter of The Welles Report in A Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea. This section covers the end of the Battle of Blogia and its immediate aftermath. I can assure you that those of you who’ve played Sabres of Infinity will have a lot to like in this bit.
If you want to see more writing like this. Please do not hesitate to donate to my Patreon. We’re just a touch short of $150 a month now, which means we are on the cusp of seeing every new article accompanied by some artwork by yours truly. I’m sure some of you are looking forward to that!

I’ve been keeping quite busy over the last month. There’s a lot of new work I’ve been throwing myself into, including The Cryptkeepers of Hallowford, the sequel to The Hero of Kendrickstone (expect a page for that to pop up sometime in the next few months). There’s also another new project which I am very excited about, but I’m not supposed to give away anything about that one quite yet.
Rest assured though, this month’s update for A Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea hasn’t been delayed. This latest installment of Countess Welles’ report focuses on the first few hours of the Battle of Blogia itself, from the initial artillery barrage to the infantry engagement, all the way up to just moments before the fateful point when Mikhail of Khorobirit commits his Church Hussars.
As always, if you’re interested in seeing more world building and setting articles, feel free to donate to my Patreon. Not only would you be supporting further installments, but you’ll also get access to updates a week early!

Some of you may have already noticed that Steam is currently having their annual Summer Sale.
What you may not know is that Choice of Games has put up its entire catalogue on sale at a 25% discount. On top of that, they’ve put all of my currently published work up in a series of bundles, which are discounted even further.
That means you can get a bundle consisting of Mecha Ace and The Hero of Kendrickstone or one made up of Sabres of Infinity, and its sequel, Guns of Infinity for a total of 44% off!
If you haven’t had a chance to pick up any of those titles, now would probably be the best chance to nab them.

Today marks the release of the first installment of my Patreon-funded series: A Soldier’s Guide to the Infinite Sea, a monthly column dedicated to exploring the culture, history, and politics of the Infinite Sea, the setting of Sabres of Infinity and Guns of Infinity. While patrons do get access to funded content a week in advance, all content will be openly available for free on this site via the Patreon Content page.

Good news: it looks like Choice of Games has managed to sort out all of the problems relating to the Steam release, and now both Guns of Infinity and its immediate predecessor Sabres of Infinity are available for purchase on Steam!
You can take a look at the Steam pages for both Guns of Infinity and Sabres of Infinity here.
